LEST WE FORGET
The Australian Ex-Prisoners of War was declared the First Military Memorial of National Significance outside Canberra by an Act of Parliament in 2008
The memorial is located in the magnificent Ballarat Botanical gardens & is the focal point for commemorations & to acklnowledge the deprivation, brutality, starvation & disease which was suffered by Prisoners of War
The Memorial also gives a final resting place for those Prisoners of War that remain on foreign shores & have no known grave
It is a place of national honour, remembrance & healing for all Australians. The memorial is a mark of respect from a grateful nation
