Spring time in Lake Boga

Lake Boga has many orchards around the area. A short drive down couple back roads & all these beautiful blossoms were just glorious

Not sure what fruit will be picked off these trees but it was a lovely sight

Swan Hill bridge opening

Big day in Swan Hill today. The bridge hasn't been open for a least 6 years. The maintenance men having been working like crazy on the bridges between Echuca & Mildura

This weekend there is a big Centenary of Paddle steamers in Mildura

The 100 year old PS ADELAIDE left Echuca earlier in the week & is now hoping the bridge in Swan Hill will open so it can continue its journey down the Murray to Mildura in time for the celebrations this weekend

Swan Hill bridge

Slowly UP UP SHE GOES!!!!

PS Adelaide makes her way under the bridge, as the river is very high at the moment & flowing very strongly, it was a real effort to get her under  BACKWARDS!!!!  apparently more control on the current going that way !!!!!

Another paddle boat accompanying the Adelaide on its journey down stream

All the maintenance men are happy things went well, now they have to  make there way further down the river to Nyah bridge by 3..30pm & hopefully have the same success as in Swan hill this morning

Spirit of Tasmania - Port Melbourne

We are spending the weekend in Melbourne. Came down by train on Friday morning & going home on the late train tonight, gets into Swan Hill @ 10.55pm

Caught the tram down to Port Melbourne to check out where the Spirit of Tasmania ferry leaves from, as we have booked to go across on 16 November

Wanted to see how much parking there is nearby & how it works for getting onto the ferry.
Apparently you just park in the metered parking area & then it's a free for all when the gates open at 4.30pm

Melbourne

Spending the weekend in Melbourne to attend an Expo for the holiday club we belong to WorldMark South Pacific. Seemed like a good excuse to get away for the weekend

As luck would have it Bob's brother Eddie arrived in Lake Boga on Tuesday for a visit, so asked him to mind the dogs for us. We had asked the neighbour, but Eddie was happy to do it for us

Sights you see travelling around town on one of the famous Melbourne trams

Bayview Eden hotel

I got a good deal Agoda hotel internet site & booked to stay where the Expo was being helde

After getting off the train @ Southern Cross station we found the info centre & were told we could use our train ticket till 3.30pm on all the trams, trains etc in CBD

This enabled us to get to hotel & they told us which trams to catch & we were there in about 20 minutes

Spotted this hot air balloon out the bedroom window, floating over Albert Park

Looking out over Albert park.  Hotel was centrally located, 5 minutes walk to the St Kilda tram

I bought a coupon on the net ($19 for two including a drink each)
& tonight we are off to Red Bennies Burlesque show @ Prahan
should be fun !!!!!
